The Crypto Mentor

Bitcoin in the Scales of Shariah and Reality: a Muslim beginner’s guide to understanding, buying and safely keeping Bitcoin

Is Bitcoin halal, or haram? People around you argue, some permitting it and some forbidding it. This book puts the scholars’ and fiqh bodies’ views in front of you, in their own words and with their sources, and then lets you decide with understanding.

  • Why your savings melt, and why Bitcoin is called “digital gold”.
  • How Bitcoin works, in plain language.
  • Nineteen fatwas and resolutions, with their evidence.
  • Your first purchase, and moving it to a wallet whose key you hold.
  • How to spot scammers, and hold steady when prices fall.

Paperback and hardcover coming soon. Every figure, date and quotation checked against its source, with nearly 290 footnotes. For education only: not financial advice, and not a fatwa.

Breaths of Hope

A Journey Through Survival and Faith. Revised edition, 2026

Far from home, a physicist lies in a room of glass, counting the hiss of the oxygen. A scan shows five per cent of his lungs still working. Two hospitals: one that counted what his lungs could pay, one that counted what they could breathe.

It is a story of a brother who would not give up, a friend who refused to take a single coin, and a faith that held when the paper promises broke.

About J.S. Adam

J.S. Adam is the pen name of Jamal, son of Adam. He studied physics and engineering, and today builds software platforms. In 2018 he discovered Bitcoin, and saw in it an old idea in new clothes: money its owner truly owns.

Then came the test. He fell seriously ill with COVID-19 in a country that was not his own: about three months in two private hospitals, more than three weeks of it in intensive care, then a month at home being weaned off oxygen. His insurer refused to pay, so he paid the bills himself, helped by the Bitcoin he had saved. Breaths of Hope is that story.

He now writes to be a mentor to ordinary people: to explain the new world of money in their own language, to warn them about scammers, and to set the scholars’ evidence before them. He also turns his words into anthems sung in human voices alone.

To every hospital that counts beds before it counts breaths: we are not invoices.
